Haiwen & Partners Awarded Best PRC Law Firm of the Year 1999

At the “Asian Law Awards” held in Hong Kong on 4 November 1999, Haiwen & Partners was awarded the “Best PRC Law Firm.” This award is recognition of the key role the firm has played “in many high level securities projects in the PRC and in the area of international commercial litigation and arbitration,” said Mr. Fei Ning who was present in the award ceremony on the firm’s behalf, “the firm is committed to providing quality services to its clients around the world.”

Haiwen & Partners is pleased to announce that the firm has been voted the “Best Regional Law Firm of the Year” (the Asia-Pacific region) and also the “Best China Law Firm of the Year” at the Asian Legal Deals Awards ceremony hosted by the International Financial Law Review magazine (IFLR) on 1 March 2001 at Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Hong Kong.

In the same award presentation, the initial public offering of its stocks at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange by the China Unicom Limited, in which the firm acted as counsel to the issuer, won for the firm the “IFLR Equity Deal of the Year 2000.”

Haiwen & Partners Awarded Best National Law Firm of the Year 2001

Haiwen & Partners is pleased to announce that the firm was voted the “Best PRC Law Firm of the Year” by the International Financial Law Review magazine (IFLR) at its Asian Legal Deals Awards ceremony held on 7 March 2002. It is the third consecutive year that the firm has been awarded the best law firm in the Mainland China. The previous two awards were granted in 1999 and 2000, respectively.

In the same award presentation, the “first western-style M&A transaction,” as commented by a publication of Asian Law & Practice, in which the firm acted as co-counsel for Huawei Technologies to sell its 100% holding in Avansys Power to Emerson Electric Co., won the “M&A Deal of the Year.” Moreover, the firm’s outstanding performance as counsel for Aluminum Corporation of China Limited (Chalco) in its initial public offering transaction at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange, won the “Equity Deal of the Year.” This is the second consecutive year that the firm has been awarded the “Equity Deal of the Year.”
