Mr. Sun is a salary partner, based in the Shanghai office.  Mr. Sun's practice focuses on Bankruptcy & Reorganization, M&A, Securities Offering and General Corporate areas.  

Mr. Sun joined Haiwen in 2013. 

In the area of Bankruptcy & Reorganization, representative transactions include roles as investor's legal advisors in the bankruptcy reorganization of Tsinghua Unigroup and its related companies, of HNA Group's main business sector, of FOUNDER and its related companies, of Anhui Wenda University and its related companies, of Beijing Taifeng Real Estate Development Co., Ltd., in the establishment of a special opportunity asset management platform by Warburg Pincus and Wensheng Asset Management; role as the company's legal advisor in the out-of-court restructuring process of an A-share listed company (in progress); roles as administrators in the bankruptcy pre-reorganization and reorganization of China Aviation Erection Engineering (Beijing) Co., Ltd. and China Aviation Gas Turbine Co., Ltd., in the bankruptcy liquidation of a mining subsidiary of a central SOE (in progress); roles as legal counsels of the financial advisors in the bankruptcy reorganization of Shenyang Machine Tool Co., Ltd. (000410), its subsidiaries and its group company, of Bohai Steel Group and its related companies.

In the area of M&A, representative transactions include Jiangxi Copper Co., Ltd.'s (600362) acquisition of Shandong Humon Smelting Co., Ltd. (002237); merger of CNR and CSR; reorganization of China Shipping Group and COSCO; merger of Shenyin Wanguo and Hongyuan Securities and subsequent A share IPO; YAHGEE's (002314) acquisition of Nanshan Real Estate; establishment of China Southern Rare Earth Group Co., Ltd.; representation of Oriza Holdings, Morgan Stanley RMB Fund, V Fund and other PEs in their various investments and exit projects.

In the area of Securities Offering, representative transactions include A share IPO and listing of BeiGene, Anlogic Infotech, a general equipment manufacturing company (in progress); public offering of convertible corporate bonds of Jiangsu Zhongtian Technology Co., Ltd. (600522); H share IPO and listing of Bank of Jiujiang, Bank of Qingdao, China Re Group; private offering of A shares and H shares and public offering of corporate bonds of Jiangxi Copper Co., Ltd. (600362), issuance of debt financing instruments of Shenzhen Chiwan Wharf Holdings Ltd. (000022), issuance of tier-2 capital bonds of Bank of Xi'an.

In the area of General Corporate, Mr. Sun's clients include Suzhou Oriza Holdings Corporation, Jiangxi Copper Co., Ltd. (600362), China Merchants Port Group Co., Ltd. (001872), Qingling Motors (01122), National Nuclear Puyuan, V Fund and Blossom Hill Inn.

The bankruptcy reorganization of Bohai Steel Group and its related companies which Mr. Sun participated in was honoured the legal award (the best influential case of the year in Tianjin) by the "International Financial Law Review" (IFLR1000). The bankruptcy reorganization of China Aviation Erection Engineering (Beijing) Co., Ltd. and China Aviation Gas Turbine Co., Ltd. which Mr. Sun participated in was ranked as top 10 representative bankruptcy cases by the Supreme People's Court.

In 2010, Mr. Sun achieved his LL.B. degree from East China University of Political Science and Law and bachelor's degree (minor) in English Language from Shanghai International Studies University. Mr. Sun received Master of Laws degree from Fudan University in 2013.

Mr. Sun's native language is Mandarin.  He can work in English.
