Mr. Guo has long provided legal services for domestic and cross-border transactions of international and Chinese private equity funds, sovereign investment funds, well-known state-owned enterprises, other leading Chinese enterprises and multinational groups, and boasts extensive experience in cross-border M&A, foreign investment, as well as private equity investment and exit.

Prior to joining Haiwen, Mr. Guo was an associate of Linklaters’ joint operation firm in China, Zhao Sheng Law Firm.

Mr. Guo’s recent deal experience includes:

● Advised a number of Chinese sovereign funds in respect of various cross-border investments, mergers and acquisitions and divestments across jurisdictions, including Colombia, Mauritius, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan;

● Advised an HKEX-listed company in respect of its proposed strategic investment in a Philippine payment services company; a Chinese listed company in respect of various cross-border M&A projects involving jurisdictions of Romania and Mexico;

● Advised a Chinese listed company in respect of its proposed bid to acquire an aluminium casthouse and industrial flat rolled products business based in Hungary;

● Advised a multinational automotive company on its proposed establishment of joint ventures and projects of cooperative development of resources in China and Indonesia;

● Advised Graviton Group in respect of its acquisition of 100 % of the shares in SRS Certification GmbH and Shanghai Shiying Certification Service Co., Ltd;

● Advised PDT Technology in respect of a series of its investments and mergers and acquisitions;

● Advised Truelight Capital in respect of its Pre-IPO investment in Zenitar (a late clinical-stage biotechnology company driven by unmet clinical needs and enabled by structural biology and AI);

● Advised Black Dragon in respect of its Pre-IPO investment in Biren Technology;

● Advised SOFINA in respect of its co-lead investment in the Series B financing of Laifen and subsequent follow-on investments;

● Advised CNBM Fund in respect of various private equity investments in the new materials sector;

● Advised CPE in respect of a number of private equity investment transactions;

● Advised a Southeast Asian sovereign fund in respect of various private equity investments.

Mr. Guo is admitted to practice in the PRC and the State of New York.

Mr. Guo holds an LL.B. degree from China University of Political Science and Law and an LL.M. degree from the University of California, Berkeley.

Mr. Guo’s native language is Mandarin, and he speaks English fluently.
