The 2026 listing recognises lawyers practising in Admiralty Law, Maritime Law and Shipping Law in the Hong Kong legal market who have been identified by clients and peers for their expertise and abilities in these areas.

This marks the second consecutive year that Edward has been included in the ranking, reflecting his strong reputation in shipping and maritime law and his experience advising on complex, high-value and cross-border disputes.

Edward’s practice covers international arbitration, civil and commercial litigation, shipping and commodities, insolvency and bankruptcy, and crypto and digital assets disputes. He is admitted in Hong Kong SAR, England & Wales, the British Virgin Islands and the PRC and acts for a broad range of clients, including financial institutions, insurers, multinational corporations, state-owned enterprises, and major shipping and commodities companies.

在航运与海事业务方面，刘洋律师处理的事项涵盖租船合同、提单、长期运输合同、船舶建造、海上保险、碰撞、搁浅、救助、共同海损、扣船及司法管辖权争议等，并就资产融资、贸易融资及航运融资等非争议事项提供法律意见。2019年至2021年，刘洋律师连续三年获Lloyd’s List评为“全球十大海事律师”之一，此项荣誉在全球航运业殊为难得。

His shipping and maritime work includes matters involving charterparties, bills of lading, contracts of affreightment, shipbuilding, marine insurance, collisions, groundings, salvage, general average, ship arrests and jurisdictional issues, as well as advisory work on asset finance, trade finance and shipping finance. From 2019 to 2021, Edward was ranked by Lloyd’s List among the Top 10 Global Maritime Lawyers for three consecutive years, which is a rare distinction in the maritime legal market.
