Lori Ng is a Counsel at Haiwen Partners LLP. Her practice focuses on civil and commercial litigation, international arbitration, matrimonial and family law, shipping and commodities, liquidation and restructuring, and criminal matters.

Lori has extensive experience in complex commercial dispute resolution, cross-border enforcement, high-net-worth family matters, and shipping-related disputes. With a background in both law and finance, she brings strong commercial insight to cases involving corporate governance, asset protection, financial disputes, and cross-border asset recovery.

Prior to joining Haiwen Partners LLP in 2022, Lori practiced in the litigation departments of two well-established Hong Kong law firms, where she was involved in numerous complex and high-profile matters.

Civil & Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution

● Represented licensed money lenders in litigation against numerous borrowers and enforced court orders and judgments through Mareva injunctions, disclosure orders, garnishment proceedings, charging orders, orders for sale, and bankruptcy/winding-up proceedings.

● Acted in various cyber fraud and asset recovery cases, including successfully assisting one of the victims of one of Singapore’s largest cyber fraud cases in 2019 in recovering part of the losses in Hong Kong.

● Represented insurers, insured parties, and injured persons in insurance-related claims, including personal injury, employees’ compensation, traffic accident, and public liability matters.

● Handled high-profile employment disputes and successfully obtained injunctions to protect corporate interests, including restraining a former director from unauthorized disclosure of confidential information.

● Acted in complex litigation concerning alleged breach of fiduciary duties by a former director.

● Successfully participated in  the appeal to the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal in Civil Appeal No. 9 of 2016 ((2017) 20 HKCFAR 53), now an authority in Hong Kong      concerning trust property and its income.

Criminal Matters

● Advised and represented clients in white-collar crimes, non-violent offences, personal injury-related offences, and cryptocurrency fraud cases.

● Represented clients in      criminal investigations, inquiries, and enforcement actions initiated by Hong Kong law enforcement agencies.

● Provided immediate legal assistance during arrest and interviews, and advised on responses to notices, summonses, and subpoenas.

Matrimonial & Family

● Advised on nuptial agreements, divorce and separation, financial arrangements upon divorce, children’s custody, care and control, access arrangements, and relocation applications.

● Acted in both contentious and non-contentious family proceedings for a wide spectrum of clients, including high-net-worth and cross-border families.

Shipping & Commodities

● Acted for well-known shipowners and managers, P&I Clubs, and shipping and trading companies in charterparty and shipping disputes.

● Advised on vessel arrests and enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards.
